Having a page that links out to the videos would be great.  I'm not thrilled about linking to that page from each of the videos - after all, each person in the video already has a link to their cast page.  If you want to find all of the appearances, writing examples, etc. you could just go back to the cast page and cross-reference.  If we add new category links to each video... it'd be messy.Melendwyr 07:18, 19 October 2006 (CDT)

I don't know what you're saying >_>

You understand that with wikis, adding "category:something" to a page, automatically creates a "category:something" page with all of the pages marked category:something listed. For example, the page is done automatically because all of the crew pages have "Category:Crew" listed. --Mik 20:45, 19 October 2006 (CDT)

Unlisted actors

Lindsay Burnett is not only referenced but appears in several of the videos. Where should she be listed? Melendwyr 19:55, 30 September 2006 (CDT)

Actually, there are several people who aren't listed on either site. I'll just go ahead and insert them, and their links/pages can be deleted if desired. Melendwyr

Possible new categories

(Maybe I should have put this under videos, but whatever) Perhaps we should add the category "Acted_by_Graham_Stark" or "Video_with_actor_Paul_Saunders" to all the videos (with the correct names), so people can search for videos with their favorite actor or what have you. For example, I'd love to see all of the videos Andy was in. Just a suggestion. --207.216.27.61 18:15, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

That was by me, btw >_> --Miakosummin 18:16, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

Hmmm... it's possible, but that's a rather inelegant way to do it. We already have a precedent for listing repeating themes as categories with "Story Guy", and putting all of the actors in a video into categories as well might make things crowded. What if we added a section to the individual crew pages that contained links to all of the videos they'd been in? That would cut down the clutter on the video pages themselves and make searching very easy. Melendwyr 18:51, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

It would be good to have some way of searching for videos by actor, or writer, or whatever. Graham 19:11, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

Well, I'll start reading the "How-to Guide" again. Miakosummin, if you can find a way to implement your suggestion, I say go for it. (Welcome to the Wiki, by the way!) Melendwyr 19:32, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

I think pages like "Graham's appearnces" are better then adding categories since that would mean adding alot of new categories.Lord Chrusher 20:13, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

Also: should narration count as an appearance? I'm thinking of the Halloween safety video - only Paul actually *appears* in the video, but Graham does all the talking. Melendwyr 21:07, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

The H*R Wiki has a seperate 'Filmography' category for each character, which seems like a reasonable way to handle this. Basscomm 22:38, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

I say Basscomm's suggestion for the win! I'll try to get the beginnings of such a system implemented tomorrow afternoon. Melendwyr 22:53, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

Thats exactly what I meant >_> Only they use the word "filmography." Note that each video page has "Categories: Homestar Runner Filmography | Strong Bad Filmography..." and so on. Categories are definately the way to go because they do a lot of the work for you. Instead of manually adding videos to the list, you just add "Category=Graham_Stark_Filmography" to the newest film (assuming Graham is the only actor in this example), and the video automaticly appears on the page Category:Graham_Stark By the way, I want to say that whenever possible on this wiki you should use both first and last names; as LRR evolves, you never know who is going to appear in more then one video, and they might have the same name. --Mik 23:20, 18 October 2006 (CDT)
